Andrei Shychko

A native of Bobruisk, Belarus, Andrei Shychko began studying music at age seven, and now studies at the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory. He has participated in many competitions, including 2014 European Delphic Games, where he won the Gold Medal; the 2014 Takamatsu International Piano Competition, where he won a prize for the Best Performance of the Compulsory Competition and a special prize from the City of Takamatsu; and St. Petersburg's International Junior Piano Competition in 2009, where he won the Grand Prix. He has participated in festivals as well, among them the Faces of Modern Pianism at the Mariinsky Theatre in 2015 and Belarus's the Magic of Piano Festival in 2011.

He regularly gives solo performances and concerts with orchestras in Belarus, Germany, France, Japan, and Russia. Mr. Shychko also composes, and has been working on a concerto for piano and orchestra for the past six years.
