Rio Xiang

Rio Xiang was born in Sydney and started piano and composition when he was eight years old. He currently studies at the Oberlin Conservatory. He has played with the Beijing, NingBo, Minnesota, Queensland, and Xiamen Orchestras, among others. Additionally, he has recorded for the Fine Music 102.5 radio station in Sydney, and has performed recital recordings for the ABC Classic FM station.

Mr. Xiang has been awarded prizes in various competitions, including first prizes at the 2018 Arthur Dann Piano Competition and the 2013 Hailun International Piano Competition in the tenth Shanghai International Music Festival. He has participated in the International Piano Master class in Shanghai and Xiamen, the Aspen Music Summer Festival, the Lake Como International Piano Summer School, and in a master class at the Art of the Piano Festival in Cincinnati, Ohio.
